At just 19 years old, producer, saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Zacapo is emerging as a bold new voice in genre-blending music. Rooted in the improvisational traditions of jazz while embracing the textures of modern R&B and neo-soul, Zacapo writes, produces and performs across his productions, crafting richly layered tracks built from live instrumentation and contemporary groove.

His debut project H Collective – Volume 1, arriving May 22, introduces a collaborative musical concept centered around Zacapo’s production and musicianship. Across the EP, soulful vocal performances sit alongside piano, percussion and Zacapo’s distinctive saxophone lines, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking.

A music scholar throughout his school years in Scotland, Zacapo developed his musicianship studying saxophone, drums and percussion before moving to London to study sound recording and engineering at the Academy of Contemporary Music, whose program is run in partnership with Metropolis Studios.

Inspired by jazz icons such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Wayne Shorter, while also drawing from contemporary artists including Leon Thomas, Yusef Dayes, Brent Faiyaz, Lucky Daye, and Loyle Carner, Zacapo’s sound bridges jazz sensibility with modern soul production.

The EP’s lead track “Call It What It Was” delivers an infectious R&B groove, while “Feels Like Forever” channels shimmering 80s-inspired disco energy. “Higher Ground” brings soulful dancefloor momentum, and “Simple Kind of Love” explores a smooth 90s-influenced R&B ballad. On standout track “Don’t Call

My Energy,” Zacapo’s expressive saxophone weaves through the production, highlighting the musicianship at the heart of the project.

The music will also soundtrack the runway presentation for wearable art sustainable swimwear label HartiSWIM during Miami Swim Week The Shows on May 30, at the Mondrian Hotel in Miami’s South Beach, where Zacapo will perform live saxophone during the show.

The brand transforms original hand-painted pop-art artwork into sustainable swimwear made from recycled plastic bottles, merging art, fashion and environmental design.

With H Collective, Zacapo introduces a new creative platform where music, fashion and visual art intersect, marking the beginning of a multidisciplinary project led by one of the UK’s most promising young producers.
